Pokeno School

School Uniform

After community consultation in 2024, the Pokeno School Board made the decision to introduce a compulsory uniform.

Phasing In Period
To support families with transitioning to a compulsory uniform there will be a two-year phasing in timeframe:

2025

  • Uniform available for all families to purchase from Term Two;
  • ALL new enrolments up to Year 5 from Term 2 to be in uniform;
  • Optional for all existing students.

2026

  • All new enrolments up to Year 7 are expected to be in uniform;
  • All existing students up to Year 5 are expected to be in uniform;
  • Optional for existing Yr 6 - 8 students.

2027

  • All students expected to be in uniform.

How to order:
Families will need to order the uniform online.

  • Go to uniformworks.co.nz/shop/pokeno-school/
  • Once you have placed your order, families should receive delivery within 1-5 business days.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Uniform Works does not have a shop families can go to.
  • Samples can only be viewed at school and orders must be placed online.

Uniform Expectations
We believe that uniform gives a sense of belonging and allows all students to be equally well dressed. We rely on parents and caregivers to help us, maintain a high standard of dress and comply with our expectations below.

  • Students are expected to wear the correct school uniform at school, at official school events and on official school trips as appropriate;
  • All uniform items should be clean and tidy and worn correctly at all times;
  • All uniform items must be clearly named;
  • Daily footwear will be of personal choice but must be appropriate for school. No raised heels, or wheelies;
  • Full length plain black pants or leggings can be worn. They must not have any non-school logos or branding and must not be seethrough. These are not available from Uniform Works;
  • When going off site for a trip or event students must wear closed-toe shoes;
  • Jewellery should be limited to a wristwatch, and ear studs only.
  • Taonga of cultural significance can be worn below the level of clothing.
  • No facial makeup or fingernail polish.
  • The bucket hat or wide brimmed hat is compulsory in Term’s 1 & 4
